Tension in the work place Tregardock for me is a place of solitude and peace. Being at one with nature, allowing time to stand still. A small haven, a retreat, a hidden gem amongst the rugged landscape.
A place where I found myself and found my future..a place that inspired me to continue to help others.. Tregardock does not feel like it is located on one of the most popular stretches of coast in Cornwall. Situated about halfway between Tintagel and Port Isaac, Tregardock is often empty. The reason is, it is quite difficult to get to; located at the end of a long footpath, there is a bit of a climb down the rocks onto the beach, making it inaccessible to many. Parking is fairly restricted too, with no car park and only space for around 10 or so cars. The beach itself, is non existent at high tide, but as the tide drops away, it reveals a fine stretch of sand, with a near shore littered with rocks. What starts off as a series of small coves, becomes one long sandy stretch at low tide. The cliffs behind the beach are fairly impressive too, sheer and high, they are punctuated with caves and overhangs. At the northern end of the beach, there is a shallow cave, with a waterfall cascading down the cliffs in front. There are plenty of rockpools and an abundance of mussels cover the rocks. With so much to explore it is worth keeping an eye on the incoming tide to make sure you don't get cut off. AuthorI love being able to enable people to see the positives in their lives. |
